Tyngsborough School Committee Approves Superintendent Contract and New Student Services Director

School Committee · Meeting of June 23, 2026

Tyngsborough School Committee approves superintendent contract and names new Director of Student Services at year-end meeting. The committee unanimously approved a new contract for Superintendent Mike Woodlock and appointed Josh Evans, a 10-year Norris Road special education facilitator, as Director of Student Services at its June 23 meeting. The committee also approved contract amendment four of four with D-Bus for regular education transportation at $495 per bus per day for 2026-2027, a 5.8 percent increase, with Woodlock noting the district will go out to competitive bid in December or January as the current contract expires.

A revised physical restraint of students policy was adopted as a first and final read, effective August 17, ahead of a state mandate. Athletic Director Daniel Ogden won approval for two overnight field trips: a boys soccer trip to Martha's Vineyard in August and the district's annual Give Kids the World trip December 6-12 at $2,200 per student. The meeting closed with extended recognition of two retiring staff members described by Chair Woodlock as "two legends" leaving the district simultaneously: pre-K educator Julie Simon, after nearly 29 years, and Dr.

Flanagan, after a multi-decade senior leadership tenure.
