School Committee Approves Final Fiscal 2026 Report

Lentzic told the School Committee 90 percent of students over three years went on to college, and 93 students earned Middlesex Community College credit through dual enrollment since 2023. The committee voted 6-0 to approve the district's final fiscal 2026 expenditure report, presented by Mr. Hogan.

Members also recognized athletic trainer John Patton, marking "over 20 years" of service, and celebrated the return of a pep band at a home football game after what members called years without one. The Superintendent said the district hit all-time lows in four of six tracked absenteeism categories, with full data due next month. "They're saving, in some cases, hundreds of thousands of dollars" by choosing community college first, one administrator said.
