Fire Station Building Committee approves prior minutes, discusses project cost.

Fire Station Building Committee · Meeting of April 22, 2026

TYNGSBOROUGH — Fire Station Building Committee approves prior minutes and discusses rising project costs. Town Manager Colin Loiselle reported that the Fire Department headquarters project on the Winslow parcel now carries a $24.8 million price tag, a $600,000 increase from the February 2025 conceptual estimate of $24.2 million, reflecting construction cost escalation over a two-and-a-half-year delay. Loiselle cautioned the committee that reducing contingencies would expose the town to greater long-term financial risk.

Chair Adele Coughlin announced the next public information session will be held Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Old Town Hall.
