Tyngsborough Conservation Board OKs Marine Patrol Dock on Lake Mascuppic

Tyngsborough conservation board approves police dock, opens hearing on 242-unit senior campus. The Conservation Commission voted unanimously to issue an Order of Conditions for a seasonal 4-by-30-foot dock on Lake Mascuppic so police can moor their marine patrol boat, after Police Chief Sean Woods said the lake generates more calls for service than any other water body in town. Town Manager Colin proposed a monthlong trial, Thursdays through Sundays, with neighbor feedback collected before any future reinstallation.
Separately, Wingate Development opened a new hearing on an 84 Kendall Road senior living campus with 202 units in phase one and 40 age-restricted cottages in phase two; a commission member noted the applicant's proposed 1.5-to-1 wetland replication ratio falls short of the town bylaw's 3-to-1 standard. Abutter Glenn Allgrove said of the project's effect on his well, "I have no doubt that this project is going to render it useless." The board also heard citizen complaints about unauthorized tree clearing near the Town Beach and continued four other pending wetland applications to September 8.
