Tyngsborough capital committee backs $358,000 in off-cycle town and school spending. The Capital Asset Management Committee voted Wednesday, September 16, to support the plan, which includes a new computer backup system, added Town Hall security cameras, three replacement police vehicles, a DPW backup generator, and an elementary school roof study, doors and refrigerant monitoring system. The DPW generator request follows a vendor bankruptcy that left the town's current unit running on salvaged fire department parts.
The committee recommended tapping the Capital Asset Stabilization Fund, and the plan heads to a joint Select Board, Finance Committee and Capital Asset Management Committee session Monday before going to voters at October's town meeting. Separately, the Planning Board takes up a seven-lot Otis Woods subdivision on Ingalls Road Thursday, with a Kendall Road senior living hearing continuance requested to October 15.
