Conservation Commission approves seasonal police dock at Lake Mescupic

Town News Brief _ · Meeting of August 26, 2026

Tyngsborough clears seasonal police dock, closes Winslow Road for Party by the Bridge. The Conservation Commission approved a special permit Tuesday night for a new seasonal dock at the town beach on Lake Mescupic, letting the Police Department keep its patrol boat on the water instead of trailering it for every call. Neighbors raised concerns about fishing access, noise and security; the department is treating the rest of the season as a trial before deciding whether the dock returns next summer.

Winslow Road is closed between Middlesex Road and Kendall Road through Monday morning as volunteers prep for Party by the Bridge, with added Saturday restrictions still to be detailed in a full traffic and parking plan. The Saturday event, 11 a.m. to dusk, features Tyngsborough's Ben Duran at 2 p.m. and nationally touring band Poison headlining at 5:30 and 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at dark; tickets are $5.
