TYNGSBOROUGH --

HIGH SCHOOL -- Superintendent Mike Woodlock told the School Committee on Oct. 6 that "both girls' soccer and football still remain undefeated, and we're at the midpoint of our seasons," adding that "it's been great to see Tyngsborough being represented by a great school spirit this fall."

Woodlock also updated the committee on cooperative-team arrangements for Tyngsborough athletics. The district's longtime hockey co-op partner, Dracut, notified Tyngsborough last spring that it no longer wished to continue the two-year agreement as host team. Athletic Director Ms. Palumbo has since secured a new hockey co-op hosted by Littleton, which will also include Ayer Shirley, Bromfield and Parker Charter; Tyngsborough will be "the fifth school in that co-op," practicing and playing out of the Groton School rink. Woodlock said Tyngsborough also maintains co-ops in swim and dive, hosted by Bromfield, and girls gymnastics, hosted by Chelmsford, while Tyngsborough itself serves as host school for one additional cooperative team.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- At the middle-school level, Woodlock reported that "the field hockey team recently picked up a two-to-one victory over Narragansett." He also said "the sixth grade cross country team also competed in their first meet this season. The boys competed against larger Littleton team on the TMS course. And both boys' and girls' teams had a strong performance."
