Tyngsborough school officials this week praised more than 100 students, including athletes from several school teams, for volunteering to tear down the town's block party.

COMMUNITY -- At the Sept. 8 School Committee meeting, Superintendent Mike Woodlock read a letter from Nick DePasquale, the town's coordinator of volunteers for town events, thanking Tyngsborough students for their work taking down the block party held two weekends earlier. Woodlock said the more than 100 students who pitched in included members of some of the district's athletic teams, alongside others who were seeking volunteer hours, and that the crew "got it down really quick." DePasquale's letter also said he plans to send individual thank-you letters to each student who volunteered.
