Select Board approves CPC surcharge reduction, entertainment license for Parlee Farms

TYNGSBOROUGH — Select Board approves CPC surcharge cut and Parlee Farms entertainment license. The five-member board voted unanimously to approve a Sunday entertainment license for Parlee Farms LLC at 95 Farwell Road, and voted 4-1 to recommend a warrant article reducing the Community Preservation Act surcharge from three percent to 1.5 percent for fiscal year 2027, with Selectperson Adele Coughlin opposing. The board also unanimously approved the 2026 seasonal liquor license renewal for Parlee Farms and received a Fire Station Building Committee update noting initial hard cost estimates of just under eighteen million dollars.
Selectperson Coughlin and Selectperson Nathaniel Marino supported the CPC reduction as a reasonable compromise, while the board discussed warrant articles for the May Town Meeting including proposed changes to firearms policy in municipal buildings and full repeal of the CPC surcharge.
