Tyngsborough Planning Board Sets July Deadline for Overdue Nonprofit Site Work

TYNGSBOROUGH — December 5, 2024 — Tyngsborough Planning Board approves lot-line shift and driveway change, pushes two other projects to January. The board voted unanimously at its December 5 meeting to approve an approval-not-required lot-line adjustment between 36 Old Tyng Road and the Tyngsborough Sports Center at 501 Pawtucket Road, and to allow a one-way entrance driveway at the Two Evergreen Way ADU development on Sherburn Avenue to operate as a two-way driveway with new lane markings, citing sight distances exceeding 400 feet in both directions. A continued as-built hearing for 50 Old Tyng Road was continued to January 2 after town engineer David Nader of TEC said a revised stormwater model submitted by the applicant still contained unresolved questions about curve numbers for stone riprap substituted for approved grass slopes, with runoff increases of 0.1 cubic feet per second in a 25-year storm and 0.5 cubic feet per second in a 100-year storm. Member Kimberly O'Brien said she was "not comfortable" approving an as-built that does not match the approved plan without prior board review. The board also directed Buck the Smudge USA, a nonprofit with an open permit at 147 Frost Road covering unfinished paving, lighting, and parking improvements, to appear at the January 16 meeting with signed contractor commitments and financing documentation, and member Dave Robson stated he expects full project completion by July 1, 2025.
