Tyngsborough Planning Board Extends Kendall Road Storage Permit, Splits Library Lot

TYNGSBOROUGH — June 6, 2024 — Tyngsborough Planning Board approves Littlefield Library lot split and extends a Kendall Road storage permit. The board voted 3-0 with two abstentions Thursday to endorse an ANR plan subdividing a town-owned parcel at 250 Middlesex Road, separating the Littlefield Library onto its own lot to satisfy a Massachusetts Historical Society grant requirement, while members Chaz Dowdy and at least one colleague abstained citing unanswered questions about the future of the adjacent vacant Winslow School. The board also unanimously extended a special permit for a storage and distribution facility at 93 Kendall Road by one year to March 2026, after applicant Dave Williams of Storage and Distribution Group said state road approvals tied to a MassWorks Grant are expected in late July with construction to begin in September. In reorganization votes, Chair Steve O'Neill was unanimously re-elected and Dowdy was elected vice chair; member Kimberly O'Brien, who chairs the town's affordable housing trust, was appointed as the board's NEMCOG representative. The board also received word from the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities that Tyngsborough's MBTA Communities zoning submittal has been found to support the feasibility of multifamily housing in the town's designated district.
