Tyngsborough Planning Board Approves Cannabis Manufacturing Permit at Former Sports Center

TYNGSBOROUGH — June 15, 2023 — Tyngsborough Planning Board approves cannabis manufacturing permit at 18 Progress Ave. over neighbor objections. The board voted unanimously Thursday to grant Greenbridge Technologies, Inc. a special permit to operate a marijuana pre-roll manufacturing facility in the former Tyngsborough Sports Center, with Dreamfields — whose change-of-control application is pending before the Cannabis Control Commission — serving as the proposed incoming operator. Attorney Peter D'Agostino of 10X Strategies described the operation as a closed, employee-only facility with two to four unmarked secure transport vans departing daily, no retail sales, no cultivation, and no edibles production, with projected monthly Massachusetts revenue of $3 million to $10 million. George Logan, owner of New England Transit Sales at adjacent 30-32 Progress Ave. — whose buses transport Tyngsborough public school children — told the board "you put that place next to my place, and any school child is hurt in this town, you're responsible." The permit was conditioned on vehicle loading occurring inside the building, no subletting of the unused building half, and final sign-off on the security plan from both the Tyngsborough Police and Fire Chiefs.
