Tyngsborough Board of Health Approves Three Septic System Variances at July Meeting
Board of Health · Meeting of July 13, 2026
Tyngsborough Board of Health approves three septic variances and hears extended wireless radiation warning. At its July 13 meeting, the four-member board unanimously approved groundwater offset and setback reductions for properties at 10 Davis Road and 1 Mount Paul Road, both of which face sales requiring Title V compliance, and approved bed-separation, groundwater, and wetland variances for the failed septic system serving the Cannon Gate Condominiums at 16-18 Cannon Gate Road, where engineer Brian Goodreau of Hancock Associates attributed a second system failure to undersized tanks and missing effluent filters. The board also heard a roughly 90-minute presentation by Cece Doucette of Massachusetts for Safe Technology, who warned of health risks from non-ionizing radio-frequency radiation and urged the board to work with the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards to pursue a local no-fee smart meter opt-out before Eversource installs meters in town by year's end.
The board worked through a draft body-work establishment regulation line by line and voted to send a revised draft to town counsel for review rather than table it, after Health Director Kerri Oun noted that at least one business had already received a building department occupancy permit and was waiting to apply.
