Select Board approves liquor transfer, fire station cost cuts, and Dracut beach club amendment.

Select Board · Meeting of August 31, 2026

TYNGSBOROUGH — Select Board approves Dracut beach club amendment and fire station cuts. The board voted unanimously to amend the 1968 intermunicipal agreement governing the Sandbar Beach Club, requiring Dracut to allow Tyngsborough residents to address the selectboard on club matters, mandate written police documentation sharing, provide 10 days notice before disciplinary hearings, and confirm enforcement of liquor laws. The Fire Station Building Committee identified 3.7 million dollars in Category 1 cost reductions and 522,000 dollars in Category 2 reductions, bringing the standalone fire headquarters project to an estimated 19.0 to 19.5 million dollars.

The Board also voted 4-0-0 to notify the Zoning Board of Appeals that a proposed 84 Kendall Road development does not conform to the town's development agreement, which contemplated 100 assisted-living units and up to 150 independent-living units in five buildings with a 150-foot buffer.
