ZBA approves two-year extension for Pawtucket Boulevard flood-plain project

TYNGSBOROUGH — Zoning Board of Appeals extends permits for flood-plain construction project. The board unanimously approved a two-year extension to a Variance and Special Permit for 137 Pawtucket Boulevard, with expiration reset to May 30, 2028, to allow time for permitting through the Planning Board and Conservation Commission. The board heard discussion from Mark Greenbaum about amending the MBTA overlay district on his 54.920-acre Industrial-zoned parcel at 424 Middlesex Road to attract developers, and was told zoning changes require Town Meeting approval through a Citizen's Petition process administered by the Planning Board.
The board also heard a presentation on a proposed mixed-use age-restricted 40b development at 352 Middlesex Road with 44 units (28 ownership, 16 rental, 11 designated affordable) that will count all 16 rental units toward the town's Subsidized Housing Inventory.
