Tyngsborough panel finalizes plans for five fall waste events

Tyngsborough Sustainability Committee lines up five fall events and flags a creosote timber concern near Winslow School. Vice Chair Kristen Keegan ran Tuesday's meeting for absent Chair Diana Keohane, joined by Keith Morse, Carolyn Scafidi, Deborah Schneider and Anthony Buschur. Three events move to new locations this year: the Repair Cafe (October 24) shifts to Town Hall's Community Room, and Zero Waste Day (November 7) moves to the DPW parking lot.
Morse said Repair Cafe recruitment lagged, with just "five confirmed, which is less than before." A member reported creosote-soaked railroad timber dumped near a creek across from the Winslow School after a CSX Railways bridge replacement, calling it "probably something for the conservation commission." The committee approved its August 18 minutes unanimously and set its next meeting for October 20.
