Tyngsborough Dedicates Common to Soldier Nick King on 20th Anniversary of His Death
Nick King Memorial Common Dedication _ Ceremony Highlights · Meeting of June 25, 2026
Tyngsborough dedicates a public common to Corporal Nick King, 20 years after his death in Iraq. The June 25 ceremony marked the completion of a multi-year town project to consolidate all of Tyngsborough's war memorials into a single, landscaped central location, dedicated in the name of Paul Nicholas King, who was killed in combat on June 25, 2006 -- the first Tyngsborough resident to die in combat since Vietnam. Speakers described King, known as Nick, as "a brave young man, someone who put the greater good above his own." A fellow servicemember who identified King as his former navigator called him "brilliant, flawless, and a warrior." The ceremony closed with a prayer for the King family and a call for all who pass the memorial's plaque to be "reminded of the high cost of our freedom."
