Tyngsborough Council on Aging updates firearms policy as director prepares to retire. The board voted 6-0-1 on May 12 to update its firearms policy to align with a Town Meeting decision allowing licensed individuals to carry lawful firearms in municipal buildings. Director Barbara Roche reported the council is operating at 80.2 percent of its budget for the fiscal year.
The council discussed potential schedule changes, including closing at noon on Fridays, pending member feedback from a survey. Roche announced plans to retire on July 30, with the director position to be posted within weeks.
